PCBA patch welding method introduction

The basic tools required for PCBA patch welding are tweezers, electric soldering iron, and tin suction tape. In addition, a hot air gun, anti-static bracelet, rosin, alcohol solution, and a magnifying glass with a lamp are also needed. The following is a brief introduction to the selection, use and function of PCBA chip soldering component tools.Tweezers should use stainless steel and sharper tweezers, but not other tweezers with magnetic tips, because magnetic tweezers will make the components stick to the tweezers during the welding process.

Electric soldering iron: Choose an electric soldering iron with a conical long-life soldering iron tip. The tip radius should be less than 1mm. It is better to prepare two soldering irons, which are easy to use when removing components.

Hot air gun: When disassembling two-terminal or three-terminal components, an electric soldering iron can be used, but a hot air gun must be used when disassembling multi-lead components. The hot air gun can improve the reusability of disassembled components and avoid damage to the pad. For frequent work of disassembling components, a hot air gun with good performance is required.

Suction tape: When the IC lead wire is short-circuited, it is a good choice to use a suction tape. At this time, a solder suction device cannot be used.

The magnifying glass should be a magnifying glass with a lamp tube with a base instead of a hand-held magnifying glass. Because it is necessary to operate with both hands under a magnifying glass when welding, the lighting of the lamp tube can make the field of vision clear and increase the visibility of welding.

One, one by one welding spot welding

①Clamp the SMT component with tweezers, place it on the corresponding solder pot in the center, and hold it down with tweezers after alignment and do not move it.

② Use a fine brush to dip the flux or use a flux pen to apply a small amount of flux on the pads at both ends.

③Use a chisel-shaped (shovel-shaped) soldering iron tip to add a small amount of solder wire with a diameter less than or equal to 0.5mm. When the solder wire touches the soldering iron tip, leave it quickly, otherwise too much solder will be added for patch processing.

④ Use the soldering iron tip to heat one end of the pad for about 25%, and then remove the soldering iron.

③Then use the same method to heat the other end of the pad for about 2s, and then spread it away from the soldering iron.

Note: During the soldering process, keep the component close to the pad at all times to prevent one end of the component from floating.

2. Use a special tool horseshoe-shaped soldering iron tip (see the picture below) for welding

①Place the components, hold them down with a pin after alignment, and don't move them.

②Use a fine brush or a flux pen to apply a small amount of flux on the pads at both ends.

③Put the horseshoe-shaped soldering iron on the head.

④Use a horseshoe-shaped soldering iron to heat the pads at both ends at the same time for about 2s, and then remove the soldering iron

3. Fast welding with flat piece-shaped winding iron head (see the picture below)

Introduction of three manual welding methods for PCBA patch welding

①Put the components, hold them with tweezers after alignment and do not move them.

②Use a fine brush or a flux pen to apply a small amount of flux on the pads at both ends.

③ Tin the flat blade-shaped soldering iron tip.

④Use a fan-shaped grid iron tip to heat the pads at both ends at the same time for about 2 or so on the side of the component, and throw away the soldering iron.
